Hello and a very happy Tuesday to you. So I am only three posts in and I'm already getting complaints that I only post modern pieces and need to feature more "Homely" furniture. Not to name names but my sister doesn't appreciate some of my featured works so today I will show some more classical designs. Personally I have a great respect for classical design. Modern design questions what is possible but classical design perfects craftsmanship. Today I want to show my sister and the followers of my blog that both options are possible, progressive design with exceptional craftsmanship.

The first piece I want to examine is the 15 Baluster Dining Table from Restoration Hardware. What I love about this table is how it showcases the Elm Wood by finishing it with natural wax finish. The soul of the table is the reclaimed wood planks used with all the nail marks and nicks intact.

Although the table has the feel of the French Renaissance's, the design of the table is quite progressive. When you think of a table, you think of a flat surface with 4 legs. This table tricks the eye with its 15 legs but in a subtle way not to overpower the craftsmanship.

Now to convert my sister to the dark side of modern design! This wingback chair by Autoban and designed by De La Espada takes the classic template and progresses it. Made from walnut and leather the craftsmanship is exceptional while the design is crisp and clean. If you don't like this one Erica, I have no hope for you!

Thank You all for stopping by and I would like to give a special thanks to the Alicia Calle and the Calle family for your support on my last post. Friends and family are what is going to help this dream prosper and I'm very grateful for the ones I share this with. Explore, Imagine, Create!
