Almost Ready To Sit and Take A Load Off

Heeeellllllooooooo! So as of late I have been working on that chair from my Future Projects post. I thought tonight I would share with everyone the progress I have made thus far.

The legs on this chair is really what I love most about about it and drew it to me in the first place. I hand sanded them and left the carving untouched so when I stain it, the carvings will stand out.

The real legs and backrest are made from the same wood and are without carvings. I might add my own carvings to this leg but I also like the combination of ornate and minimal.

For the rest of the chair I filled all the nail holes and joints with wood filler. I wanted to make the wood look antiqued and once stained, the holes joints will still be visible but  will feel smooth to the touch.

I hope you all enjoyed tonights post and I am very excited to share the final product. If you like what you see please click the StumbleUpon button to the right of this post. If you are interested in purchasing any of my work email at cory@associatedarchitects.com. Thanks!
