Drinkin' Beers, Nailed it Bro!

Hey all! So yesterday I posted my bar and today I have a bottle opener I made while I was waiting for urethane to dry, and I couldn't find a bottle opener for my beer. I can't claim the idea of using a bent nail as my own because they are all over the internet but this one I think I put my own twist on.

For the wood block I used Oak with Teak veneer sandwiched together with and old nail from the baby food jar of nails in the shop. It also has 4 finishing nails to hold the wood together and avoid splitting and finished with a leather strap so you can hang it off a peg in the shop or put on a hook to hang close to the bar.

To use it you place the flat side onto the top of the bottle with the nail head facing down. Make sure to place the nail head under the lip of the bottle cap.

Pry the lid of as you would with standard bottle opener and enjoy your beer.

I want to give a special shout out to Magic Hat Brewing Company and the #9 for not only quenching my thrust during this photo shoot but also making a great demonstration bottle! I have one other style bottle opener that I gave to a friend as a gift and I'll see if I can snap some shots of it next time I see him. If you are interested in purchasing your own C.fDS bottle open you can email me at cory@associatedarchitects.com.

Cheers!
